About the Housecast Sessions

All You Need To Know About The Housecast Sessions

The Housecast SessionsThe Housecast Sessions are weekly (through October to April, monthly in Summer) podcasts of house and dance music (plus many other genres) presented by DJ }Moose and occasional special guests. Originally the podcasts were produced for Zetcast, Shetland’s online broadcasting community, but are also now available worldwide through iTunes and other podcasting sites. The Housecast Sessions have been running since 2006.

Using podcast clients such as iTunes, Juice, etc., or any RSS capable browser such as Internet Explorer 7 or Safari 3, you can have the Housecast episodes delivered right to your desktop without even having to visit the website! But remember to drop by from time to time - if you like a particular episode then please leave a comment (likewise if you don’t), and there’s always other shows, individual tracks or other content that may not be released via RSS.

DJ }Moose carefully selects the tracks he plays from many sources, including pre-releases direct from labels, online dance music stores, promos, CD archives, vinyl archives, even tracks sent directly to him from producers and artists. The music is typically house in its many flavours, from deep to progressive, disco to tribal, funky to soulful, and really anything else in between. Some Housecasts are themed, such as the latin house special in March 2007 or the Old Skool cast in August; some contain the latest unreleased house tracks that may well become floor fillers when they hit the clubs. But the one thing they all have in common is quality music played by an enthusiastic and proficient DJ. Oh, and remember to check out the annual Housecast Reviews that play some of the best tracks of the previous year.

Special guests have included DJ Alex and former Shetland musician and music guru Cluny Revell. Guest spots tend to play back to back with }Moose, adding diversity and spice into the mix. Enjoy!
